Corolla 2.7.B from the Lignum Series 2024 : a new collection of complex modular sculptures made of wood, inspired by principles of self-organisation found in nature.
The sculptural details allude to the actual cellular composition of wood, magnified from the microscopic level to a pattern visible to the human eye.
Glimpses of Infinite Symmetry
The sculpture was showcased as part of Glimpses of Infinite Symmetry 2014-2024, a retrospective exhibition at Romanian Creative Week 2024.
This exhibition marked 10 years since Vlad’s first solo show in his home country, Romania. It brought together some previous works and prototypes from the Miniplex and Synthetic Nature series, as well as new pieces designed specially for this event: the Lignum series. Curated by Galateca Gallery.
